Dr Malaika Ahlers is Partner at ADVANT Beiten's Berlin office and member of the Public Sector practice group. Her area of activities focuses on energy law. She advises her clients on all issues relating to the planning, implementation and drafting of contracts regarding energy generation and supply concepts as part of the transformation of the energy transition. In particular, she deals with legal questions relating to heating law and contracting, with a focus on local supply and real estate.
Dr Malaika Ahlers studied law at the University of Cologne and was admitted to the German Bar in 1996. At the University of London, she completed her LL.M. degree with a focus on European Law. She wrote a doctoral thesis in comparative law at the University of Bielefeld. Dr Malaika Ahlers initially worked as a lawyer for a civil law firm in Cologne, then worked as a European consultant and managing director at the Federal Association of Liberal Professions (Bundesverband der Freien Berufe). As part of the relocation of the capital, she moved to Berlin, where she later worked as managing director of the international department at the German Bar Association, and as an in-house lawyer at one of the Big Four accounting firms. From 2013 to 2023 she worked as an energy law specialist at Becker Büttner Held (BBH), most recently as Partner Counsel, in Berlin. Dr Malaika Ahlers joined ADVANT Beiten as Partner in 2024.
