    Expertise

    Dr Erik Schmid is Partner at ADVANT Beiten‘s Munich office and member of the Labour & Employment Law practice group. His area of expertise comprises rendering advice on individual and collective labour law to German and international companies and representing them in court nationwide. Dr Schmid advises his clients particularly on issues and structures in connection with entrepreneurial co-determination (e.g., companies with more than 500 or 2,000 employees, or European Companies), on restructurings (such as outsourcing, transfer of business, closure), as well as on works constitution law and collective bargaining issues.

    Dr Erik Schmid studied law at the University of Augsburg and at Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, Portugal. He obtained his doctoral degree in 2009 with a thesis on a labour and corporate law topic concerning entrepreneurial co-determination. While writing his doctoral thesis, Dr Schmid worked at an international automotive supplier and was responsible for the labour law-related aspects during the successful foundation of one of the first European companies (SE) in Germany. He was admitted to the German Bar in 2009 and has been working with ADVANT Beiten since that time and became Partner in 2014.
