Dispute Resolution - IT and the Law of Data - Intellectual Property
Katharina Mayerbacher is Partnerin at ADVANT Beiten's Munich office and member of the IP/IT/Media practice goup. Her main focus is on data protection law. Here, she supports companies in complying with data protection law provisions and assists them in the event of data protection breaches, supervisory authority proceedings and enquiries by data subjects. She prepares and reviews the necessary documentation and contracts and provides strategic advice on the introduction or adaptation of new technologies. Furthermore, her area of advice includes broadcasting, press and copyright law. She specialises in advising clients from the entertainment and publishing industry on all matters relating to press and media law. Another focus of her work is advising private television and radio providers, in particular on legal issues from the regulatory area and in connection with problems arising from business operations.
Katharina Mayerbacher studied law at the Free University of Berlin (Second State Ex-amination 1998, Dr. iur. 2001). Before joining ADVANT Beiten in 2011, she worked as a lawyer in several national and international law firms. She has been a Partner at ADVANT BEITEN since 2017. Katharina Mayerbacher is a specialist lawyer for information technology law and an external data protection officer (certified by TÜV Rheinland).
