Dr Moritz Handrup is Partner at ADVANT Beiten's Frankfurt office and member of the Banking, Finance & Restructuring practice group. He focuses on restructuring, corporate rescue and insolvency. He is specialised in the restructuring and corporate rescue of companies. In addition, Dr Handrup advises and represents his clients out of court and in court, in arbitration and mediation proceedings. Key issues are asserting, or defending against, claims arising from the contest of transactions in insolvency proceedings (Insolvenzanfechtung) and claims for directors' and officers' liability (Organhaftung), as well as other insolvency-specific questions. He provides legal advice and represents insolvency administrators, creditors and other parties involved in corporate insolvencies.
Dr Handrup studied law at the University of Cologne where he obtained a doctoral degree with a thesis on an insolvency law-related topic under the supervision of Prof Dr Hanns Prütting. He was admitted to the German Bar in 2015. Before joining ADVANT Beiten in 2017, Dr Handrup worked as a lawyer in the insolvency administration of an international commercial law firm in Dortmund. In 2020 Dr Moritz Handrup became Partner.
