Nikolay Potanin

Career

Nikolay Potanin is Senior Associate at ADVANT Beiten's Moscow office and a member of the Corporate/M&A practice group. His practice area comprises issues in the fields of corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, as well as civil and commercial law. Specifically, he advises his national and international clients on establishing joint ventures, protecting the rights of their participants, and associated general corporate law issues. His field of expertise is corporate, currency, antimonopoly, commercial and civil law, communications with state authorities, and other aspects of law that are pertinent when conducting business in the Russian Federation. He is experienced in acquiring businesses through share deals, establishing and structuring joint ventures in industrial and retail business, and reorganising existing undertakings.

Nikolay Potanin studied law at Lomonosov Moscow State University. He started his career as a lawyer at CMS Hasche Sigle (later CMS International B.V. (Netherlands)) in Moscow. From 2009 till 2010, Mr Potanin worked as a senior lawyer on corporate law at JSC "The Seventh Continent". He has been working for ADVANT Beiten since 2010.
