Nikolay Potanin is Senior Associate at ADVANT Beiten's Moscow office and a member of the Corporate/M&A practice group. His practice area comprises the structuring of M&A transactions, the structuring and establishment of joint ventures in the Russian Federation and the approval of transactions with the state authorities (the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Government Commission for Control of Foreign Investments in the Russian Federation). Mr Potanin also continues to advise clients on civil, corporate and commercial law issues.
Nikolay Potanin graduated from the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2007. Mr Potanin started his career in 2006 as paralegal at Mueller, Averin and Partners, Attorneys-at-Law. At this time he advised individuals and legal entities on civil and land law, represented their interests in commercial courts and state courts. In 2007 Mr Potanin moved to the Moscow office of international law firm CMS Hasche Sigle (from 2009 CMS International B.V. (Netherlands)). In 2009-2010 Mr Potanin was senior lawyer on corporate matters at JSC Sedmoy Kontinent. At this time he focused on matters of mandatory information disclosure, the issue and circulation of securities, the restructuring of bond issues, exercised the functions of corporate secretary of a public company, restructured and liquidated Russian companies. Mr Potanin has worked for ADVANT Beiten since 2010.
