Munich, 25 November 2019 – The international law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT Appoints Angelika Kapfer (Munich) and Dr Martin Rappert (Dusseldorf, both Corporate/M&A) as Equity Partners as of 1 January 2020.
Ms Kapfer is the first Equity Partner working part-time. BEITEN BURKHARDT's partners had introduced a part-time scheme for equity partners already at the end of 2016 to accommodate diverse work-life models. Ms Kapfer will be entering the existing lockstep remuneration system of the firm, reflecting the equality principle of the equity partnership.
In addition to the two Equity Partner appointments, nine lawyers were appointed Salary Partners. The partners further confirmed the salary partnership of a lateral hire.
Angelika Kapfer (47) advises national and international clients in the area of commercial and corporate law, in particular in M&A, joint ventures and conversion transactions. Her expertise also comprises corporate compliance issues as well as the structuring of supply, development and cooperation agreements.
Dr Martin Rappert (50) advises his national and international clients on dealing with contractual partners at risk of insolvency. He also advises his clients in crisis, e.g. improving shareholding structures as well as avoiding liability. Moreover, he represents his clients in insolvency proceedings. He also advises his clients in case of liability claims and represents their interests as creditor.
Together with Angelika Kapfer and Dr Martin Rappert as Equity Partners, these are the new Salary Partners:
"Assisting all appointed colleagues on their paths towards partnership is one of the key tasks for the development of our law firm," says Philipp Cotta, BEITEN BURKHARDT's Managing Partner. He adds: "The partnership is pleased to appoint as partners some of our most experienced lawyers and tax advisors to meet our clients' demands. We welcome each of the appointed partners to our partnership and congratulate them on this great achievement in their careers. It is above all thanks to the excellent work of our new talents that we are able to appoint such a great number of colleagues as both equity and salary partners each year, and it is clear evidence that we continue to offer great career opportunities."
BEITEN BURKHARDT also continues its course of targeted growth with lateral hires in selected areas and confirms the salary partnership of Dr Sebastian Weller (Corporate/M&A, Dusseldorf).
