BEITEN BURKHARDT Advises Frankfurt-Based Fintech CAPTIQ on Financing Round

    Press Releases

Frankfurt am Main, 15 May 2019 – The international commercial law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has provided advice to the Frankfurt Fintech CAPTIQ on a seed financing round. The Fintech Start-up was able to secure an investment sum of half a million euros from a total of 15 business angels and professional investment companies, mainly from the financial sector. This way CAPTIQ has secured the financial resources to launch the first digital financing platform for chamber professions (medical practitioners, pharmacists, lawyers, etc.) in the middle of the year.

CAPTIQ operates a B2B platform that facilitates the granting of loans to members of the chamber professions, for instance, for the establishment of a medical practice, an engineering office or a law firm. The Fintech Start-up offers rating-linked financing at market conditions within the range of EUR 5,000.00 to EUR 750,000.00. Conclusion of the loan agreement can be performed within two business days. The loans are refinanced in securitised form by institutional investors such as pension funds, pension schemes or depot A managers. The business model is based on a B2B approach that integrates financial advisors and banks into the sales model.

BEITEN BURKHARDT frequently advises participation rounds on both the investor and the start-up side. The advisory services rendered to CAPTIQ once again show the growing importance of the venture capital industry in Germany, thus proving the versatile commitment of the law firm's Corporate / M&A practice to the German and international Venture Capital and start-up scene.
