Moscow was the venue for the 8th Annual Conference “Compliance - enlargement of borders”, held on 23 May 2019. This year the conference was held under the aegis of Compliance Space – a new project of ICS, the exclusive partner of International Compliance Association (ICA). Over 300 compliance management executives and specialists of the largest Russian and foreign organizations participated in the conference.
Conference speakers included not only the best Russian compliance specialists, but also international experts William Brian Howarth, President of International Compliance Association (ICA) and Barbara Neiger, lead auditor of compliance management systems and author of the book “Successful Compliance – For Efficient Organisations with ISO 19600:2014. The Practical Guide”, FICA, MA, MBA, PhD.
Alexander Bezborodov, Partner, BEITEN BURKHARDT, delivered a presentation on the topic “Ethical Dilemmas. Analysis of Case Studies. Do Different Types Require Different Approaches for their Resolution?” as part of the Panel Discussion “Let’s Talk about: Ethical Dilemmas, Sexism, Sales Compliance”.

Participants were particularly interested in the mentorship programme of Compliance Space aimed at inspiring compliance management specialists to seek personal and professional development through communications with outstanding professionals. Mentors selected the programme participants with whom they will communicate during the year in an “informal” format based on a plan that they have determined.
