On 21 January 2021 BEITEN BURKHARDT Russia delivered an online seminar "Legally safe business in Russia during the crisis", with a large number of participants jointly with the Swiss Russian Chamber of Commerce and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The participants of the discussion moderated by Dr Dieter Neupert, Secretary of the Swiss Russian Chamber of Commerce, included Marina Evteeva, Adviser to the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Professor Dr Rainer Wedde and Alexander Bezborodov,  BEITEN BURKHARDT Russia, Dipl.-Ing. Rainer Leipnitz and Evgenia Konstantinova from the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Switzerland.

The seminar focused on such topical issues as the drafting of contracts (selection of governing law, liability, clauses on force-majeure circumstances and Covid-19), legal protection in Russia (the recognition of court decisions, resolution of disputes in international arbitration, arbitration reform), the receipt of a declaration of conformity,  the resolution of disputes without recourse to the courts, and also the role of Moscow as the gateway into the Russian market.

All the speakers agreed that while the current situation sets particular challenges for companies, the Russian market offers exciting opportunities for businesses that plan meticulously.
