BEITEN BURKHARDT advises ZTT on Tender for Connecting Cables between Wind Farms and Converter Stations at Sea

Munich, 21 December – The international law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised the global submarine cable manufacturer Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co, Ltd (ZTT) on the tender for advanced interconnection cables between wind farms and converter stations at sea by TenneT TSO GmbH (TenneT). TenneT is a leading European grid operator.

To transport the electricity from offshore wind farms to land, the wind power produced by the two wind farms, Kaskasi II and Gode Wind 3, is transmitted to one converter platform each. For these two wind farm connections, the cable systems are produced at the ZTT manufacturing site in Nantong/China and then transported to Europe.

BEITEN BURKHARDT's energy team headed by the partners Dr Sebastian Rohrer and Dr Maximilian Emanuel Elspas has already advised ZTT, inter alia, on the successful participation in the tender for the grid connection of the EnBW Hohe See wind farm and the implementation of this project as well as on the participation in further tenders.

Advisor to ZTT:

BEITEN BURKHARDT: Dr Sebastian Rohrer (Lead, Plant Construction and Energy Law), Dr Maximilian Emanuel Elspas; Caroline Frohnwieser, Dr Michael Hils, André Suttorp.
