20th Anniversary of the German-Dutch Lawyers Association

On 15 April 2016 the German-Dutch Lawyers Association (DNRV) invited not only to attend to the annual spring seminar; it was rather the celebration of the Association's twentieth anniversary which gave rise to the invitation to Krickenbeck castle in Nettetal on the Lower Rhine. With almost 300 members DNRV is the largest and oldest existing bilateral lawyers association; Regine Nuckel, Partner at BEITEN BURKHARDT and treasurer of the Association, has been a member of the executive board for many years now.

This year's seminar focussed on the topic "Liability Law - a Broad Subject". Within the framework of dual presentations various lecturers examined the legal fields corporate law, labour law and road traffic law under this headline. The following annual meeting of members was characterised by its pleasant atmosphere and the very positive spirit and enthusiasm within the association.

„The aim which the founding fathers who almost all attended the 20th anniversary were particularly aware of and which is deeply embedded in the bylaws of DNRV, namely „the promotion of a deeper mutual understanding between the peoples of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of the Netherlands“, is more relevant today than ever before" said Regine Nuckel and adds: "This is also illustrated by the fact that so many young colleagues have become members of the association.“

What prevails the work of the German-Dutch Lawyers Association even after 20 years is the legal practice. An informal network with brief communication channels and a quick support is what characterises DNRV and its members.

According to Regine Nuckel „all are looking forward to the next 20 years and to then celebrate the next anniversary again at Krickenbeck castle“.
