BEITEN BURKHARDT Advises Aesculap AG on Acquisition of Majority Interest in SCHÖLLY FIBEROPTIC GmbH

Hamburg, 19 April 2021 – The international law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised Aesculap AG on the acquisition of a majority of business shares in SCHÖLLY FIBEROPTIC GMBH from the Schölly family. The Schölly family holds an interest of 30 percent. The transaction is subject to the customary closing conditions. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction volume.

SCHÖLLY FIBEROPTIC GMBH is a globally active medical engineering company, headquartered in Denzlingen, Germany. The company focuses on the engineering and production of customized visualization systems for the business areas medical endoscopy and visual inspection. Aesculap AG and SCHÖLLY FIBEROPTIC GmbH have been working together in the field of endoscopic visualization since 1989. Since 1998 Aesculap AG has been a shareholder in SCHÖLLY FIBEROPTIC GmbH. The best known example of their cooperation is the 3D visualization system EinsteinVision®.
