    Winners of the 2018 German-Russian Lawyer Award


    The winners of this year's German-Russian Lawyer Award have been announced! Once again this year, the judges (Dr Wolfram Gärtner; Dr Hans Janus; Prof Dr Urs Kramer; Dr Gerd Lenga; Dr Vladimir Primaczenko; Prof Dr Jürgen Telke; Prof Dr Alexander Trunk and Prof Dr Rainer Wedde) had quite a few works   more than 60   to read and assess.

     

    After going through all nominations with great care, the judges decided the following winners of the 2018 German-Russian Lawyer Award:

     

    • The Award for the Best German Student Work has been given to Ms Alena Makarova for her master's thesis at the University of Hamburg, with the title "Foundation of a Company with Limited Liability under German Law. Comparison to Russian Law with Focus on Electronic Procedure. („Die Gründung der Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung im deutschen Recht. Vergleich mit dem russischen Recht mit Schwerpunkt auf dem elektronischen Verfahren“).
    • The Award for the Best Russian Student Work has been divided. It goes   in equal parts   to Ms Polina Medvedeva from Moscow for her work „Сравнительно-правовой анализ институтов доверительного управления имуществом по праву Германии и России“, and to Ms Anna Bykovskaja from the University of Kras-nojarsk for her work „Рассмотрение дел в порядке упрощенного производства как тенденция развития уголовного процесса в странах континентальной системы“.
    • Ms Julia Haak has been honoured as recipient of the Award for the Best German Dissertation for her dissertation at the University of Passau, with the title "The Conse-quences and Implementation of Decisions by the European Court for Human Rights: A Legal Comparison between the Federal Republic of German and the Russian Fed-eration" („Die Wirkung und Umsetzung von Entscheidungen des Europäischen Gerichtshofs für Menschenrechte: Ein Rechtsvergleich zwischen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der Russischen Föderation“).
    • For her dissertation „Правовое регулирование отношений в сфере рекламы, содержащей сравнение рекламируемого товара с товарами конкурентов, в РФ и ФРГ“ at the University of Moscow, Ms Irina Ermakova has received the Award for the Best Russian Dissertation.
    • The judges have further awarded a Special Award to Ms Eugenia Kurzynsky-Singer for her habilitation with the title "Transformation of the Russian Property Ownership. A Comparing Analysis from the Perspective of German Law" („Transformation der rus-sischen Eigentumsordnung. Eine vergleichende Analyse aus der Sicht des deutschen Rechts“).
